The child with a strong network of people in his or her life is fortunate, indeed. Good communication among all of the adults in a child’s life benefits everyone involved. It is important to communicate clearly about what is expected on all sides to avoid bad feelings between friends and family members and/or breakdowns in child care arrangements. Many times, everyone thinks they understand what agreement has been made, but when details are not discussed, the problems start.
Click the following link for a sample guide, which will help you talk with each other about what is expected. Some items might not fit your situation, and you might think of additional items specific to your situation. Depending on the circumstances, consider putting some parts of your agreement in writing and have copies for all of the adults involved in the care of the children.
